Photo camera exhibition

The greater area of Dresden can be seen as Europes main area of cameras. In this area 32 companies produced photo cameras. One of those were the “Beier-Kamerawerke” in the city of Freital. In 1923 Wolfgang Beier from Freital founded the „Freitaler Kameraindustrie Beier & Co.“. He produced sheet cameras in three different formats, later on roll film cameras and box cameras, a very much in demand reflex camera out of 1938 and many other cameras. Precious objects of the pre-war production are to be seen in this exhibition. Also out of the after-war production are many cameras in this exhibition, which is instantly in extension. A special highlight is one sample of the „Beirette“ which is not to be seen in any other museum of the world. In the showcases of the museum are appr. 75 Beier-cameras, they show a representative cross-section of the production of this factory.
